The Supreme Court issued its first significant ruling of the term last Friday, deciding unanimously that Arizona could put its new voter-ID rules into effect for the Nov. 7 election.
According to Benjamin Barr, a constitutional policy analyst with the Goldwater Institute Center for Constitutional Studies, “The Supreme Court’s ruling is a win on two fronts. It respects federalism by rejecting the Ninth Circuit’s unwarranted intervention in state policy. It also recognizes that “voter fraud drives honest citizens out of the democratic process.” The simple step of requiring voter ID is critical in protecting the integrity of elections.”
The law states that voters must present proof of citizenship when registering to vote and identification when they cast their ballots, despite claims that Proposition 200 — approved by Arizonian voters in 2004 — is unfair to minorities. Original Story Here
Despite the efforts of the ACLU to block the voter initiative, The Supreme Court, once again, overturned the Ninth Circuit Court’s block of Arizona’s Proposition 200!
Once again this shows the main reason to keep conservatives in the congress and presidency. The installation of judges who do not legislate from the bench!
The Ninth Circuit, which I commonly refer to as “Clowns in Black Robes” are deeply in the pockets of the ACLU, who’s main mission is to turn this country into a socialist hell hole (my opinion).
The stated goals of the ACLU are pretty clear if you take the time to read them: The ACLU’s founder, Roger Baldwin, stated: “We are for SOCIALISM, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself… We seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the SOLE CONTROL of those who produce wealth. COMMUNISM is the goal.”
