Back in the day before the AT&T breakup into the baby bells which gave us the likes of SBC, Verizon, Bellsouth, Pacbell there was one phone company called AT&T. This was deemed to be bad for us because there was no competition and all that crap. Now we have several phone companies and that is supposed to be good.
Well wake up America, we are only two hops away from the old oligopoly we had pre-eighties.
SBC has bought AT&T and now has named it at&t (lower case), and the FCC in their infinite wisdom has allowed at&t to buy Bellsouth. This leaves Pacbell and Verizon and at&t. How long do you think it will be before at&t buys Pacbell? Are the “can you hear me now” folks far from the chopping block?
