An international global warming conference approved a report Friday warning of dire threats to the Earth and to mankind – from increased hunger to the extinction of species – unless the world adapts to climate change and halts its progress.

Not one word about preventing the de-forestation of the rain forests was mentioned in this report. The decimation of the rain forests in South America, at one time in the 70’s, was thought to be the biggest cause of any increase in CO2 in our environment. Unfortunately, stopping the de-forestation would impact the poor South Americans just trying to make a buck. They have been clearing the rain forests since the 60’s at breakneck speed yet nothing is being done.

Instead, we get another chart indicating doom and devistation the earth will experience for every 1.8 degrees increase in global temperature from data over the last 5 years.

First off, those folks have not been paying much attention, because there is no meaningful way to measure global temperature. Measuring the global temperature is akin to finding the average phone number.

There was little doubt about the science, which was based on 29,000 sets of data, much of it collected in the last five years. “For the first time we are not just arm-waving with models,” Martin Perry, who conducted the grueling negotiations, told reporters.

Well at least the chicken littles are showing their colors, “For the (first time) we are not just arm-waving…”. The balls on these people.

I got a prediction, and this data has been collected over the past 40 years, If I win a multi-million dollar lottery, I will quit my job and start traveling!

We should be keeping an eye on the Sun.
