The primary reason for the North American Superhighway, which will divide the United States in half, restricting mobility, and eliminating some if not all of our sovereignty as a country, is based on the primary focus to by-pass our ports ladened with Union workers. Union workers cost more and only work at a speed identified by the labor unions.
Once the superhighway is in place, it will be owned by international corporations and foreign governments who not only will charging tolls to travel the road, rail, pipelines, communications, will have complete control over the governance of the highway.
Already in Texas, Spain has paid $1.2 bln in bribes (err… monies) to local governments for the right to own and manage the stretch of road from the Mexican border to Oklahoma.
If you know anything about the relationship between Spain and Mexico, you know Spain has a large investment block and influence in Mexico, so you can just about bet, Spain will also control the Mexican segment of the superhighway.
Using the Mexican ports connected to the Mexican segment of the NASCO Superhighway, Chinese (and others) will be able to ship their goods, have them loaded onto trucks and rail, for shipment to the US and Canada. The first check will be in Kansas City. An international trade port is currently being built in KC for this specific purpose.
There will not be any unions in Mexico, nor at the KC trade port and certainly none will be in place at the Canadian terminals.
Under the guise our infrastructure will not be able to handle all of the trade, this new road will be the panacea to make more money for a select few, and eliminate the unions from the equation. Since the road will be under the auspices of foreign governments, laws governing collective bargaining will be null and void. Think not? Just wait.
Since the road is not in place yet, Bush covertly inserted as part of the Iraq war spending bill, the provision allowing Mexican owned (mostly owned by drug cartels) free reign on our highways freeing them from the 17 mile provision allowed by NAFTA. That had a lot to do with Iraq funding.
For all you folks making many dumb decisions because of “the children”, remember the children are going to be screwed. Not us, unless we live too long.
