Well it has become apparent, that everyone from the nerdy little kid to the old geezer down the street, the predominate reason for getting high speed internet access, it’s not to check email, (who the hell needs high speed for email), not music, though close, movies? nah… try Porn!

With the porn business doing spectacularly and overshadowing every other business endeavor on the net one must concur it’s not just those 5 sleezy guys living in basements in New York!

The cry of free, cheap, and Porn has been the motivational force for the move from dial-up access to the high speed highway of ecstasy! ATT knows it, Verizon applauds it.

So is it any reason states want to charge a tax on internet access, downloads, commerce, etc…?

Most of the innovation on the web, such as video (live and downloadable) music, has been used in the porn industry for years. Now the pimply faced kids are pumping up their own brand of entertainment. Some are even screwing themselves in the bargain by putting too much personal information on sites like Space.com. I guess that was bound to happen. Maybe it’s natural selection?

But back to my point. The only reason one industry stands out from the rest in profits is due to an enormous number of customers. Now consider the going rate for access to porn sites is anywhere from $1 to $30. There has to be a large number of customers to make it profitable. Simple math, oh I’m sorry we don’t teach math anymore. None the less, it is a simple correlation.

So the next time you hear someone argue they need high speed to get their email, check the weather, they might not be telling the whole story.

Oh yeah, you might want to tell them, they’re not gonna pay for the additional cost of the connection by spamming everyone with email.

Maybe we should tax the daylights out of the internet.
